SETH: So you want to update
your profile picture with a
photo of you, but you don't
want your friends to be in it.
Luckily, you can
simply crop them out.
There are many tools
available for cropping.
You can often do this right
inside of photo storage sites
like Flickr, Picasa, or
Snapfish, but today I'm going
to show you how I do it
directly on my Mac using the
built in Image Preview app.
First, select the photo
by double clicking it.
This will open it in the
Preview application that
comes with your Mac.
Then, click your mouse where
you want to start cropping,
hold it down, and release it
where you want to end the crop.
Next, go to the Tools
menu at the top of the
screen, and select Crop.
Then, go to the File menu, and
select Save to save a new
version of this file.
Great!
Now you're ready to update
your profile photo.
