KIRK VICKERS: This is another dynamic movement.
Again, we're going to use a little training
aid. We're going to use the medicine ball.
Again, I'm choosing a four-pound medicine
ball. The weight of the ball is not that important.
Sometimes, if we get too heavy with the ball,
it can throw off our mechanics and our control.
We start substituting and compensating. We
start to get into improper movement patterns.
That's not what we want. What we're going
to do is we're going to start in the good
lunge position with the ball here. The ball
is over the leg. We're going to come here
and switch and come down. So we got a big
chopping motion as we come in to a scissor
lunge. We could keep that going, keeping our
head up. Our shoulders are nice and square.
Notice that my feet are in a nice position
when I do this, moving straight ahead as we
get this great chopping motion. Ten to 15
of these is going to be probably be enough.
Twenty-five, we're moving in to a very advanced
level.
